A fast, bespoke e-learning platform that finally sells the way the catalogue deserves.

My Learning Cloud came to us with an Elementor site that was actively costing them customers. The courses page - the one every visitor lands on - regularly took over 12 seconds to load. With a growing catalogue of e-learning courses aimed at health and social care providers, that kind of wait was killing the sale before the browsing had even started.

Slow load times were only part of it. Courses could not be filtered properly, the checkout was unreliable, and there was no meaningful sales reporting behind the scenes. Every symptom pointed to the same underlying problem: a plugin-heavy Elementor build that could not scale with the business.

We rebuilt the whole thing from scratch as a custom WordPress theme powered by Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, with WooCommerce customised and integrated with Stripe. In practice: near-instant course browsing, a proper filtering system by topic, level and price, and a checkout the team could actually trust.

What We Did

A custom WordPress theme built for speed, filtering and reliable checkout.

We stripped Elementor out entirely and rebuilt the site as a custom WordPress theme, with Tailwind CSS on the front and Alpine.js handling the interactive elements. No page builder, no plugin bloat, no template fighting. Every element on the page loads because we told it to, not because a theme dropped it there.

The courses page went from over 12 seconds to under one second. Bespoke course filtering lets visitors sort by topic, level and price instantly. WooCommerce was fully customised and integrated with Stripe so the checkout became a proper conversion tool with reliable sales reporting behind it.

The Result

The numbers tell the story faster than we can. Load times on the courses page dropped from over 12 seconds to under one. Order volume climbed 254 percent month on month after launch in January 2025. Monthly revenue grew from around £200 pre-launch to £850 to £1,080 plus, a 410 percent lift. Within three months of going live, the site was consistently doing 40 to 55 paid orders a month.

Beyond the numbers, the team now has a platform they can actually manage. CMS training was handed over at launch, and the monthly support and hosting plan means Brad and Kay stay on hand for anything the team need to change or add.
